Ultrasound #2

Here is a picture from our second ultrasound. It was very exciting to see! Based on this ultrasound our doctor gave us a due date of December 1st.

8 Weeks!

We're thankful to God we've made it through 8 weeks of pregnancy! We're beginning our 9th week now. We had our second visit to the doctor today and everything went really well. I had another fun encounter with some student nurses- some of them learned to take a blood pressure measurement today:) It's even more fun when they think you don't understand what they are saying in Czech about how nervous they are. I tried to put them at ease:) Thankfully, all of my blood and urine results were normal and we were able to have another ultrasound done. We saw a strong heartbeat again! It was wonderful! It's amazing how much it has grown in just two weeks...not to mention how I have grown. I didn't expect to notice much change this soon, but I do. As for pregnancy symptoms... I continue to have all-day nausea on most days and some sickness to go with it on some of those days, but not every day thankfully. My sickness is, so far, always right before bed. I'm kind of glad it happens this way because it usually breaks the bought of nausea and I can then go to sleep much more easily. I definitely have to eat about every two hours right now to help with the nausea and I even try to eat something whenever I wake up in the night. I feel like I'm always eating and right now I don't want any of it. I look forward to better days in this area, which should be coming in a couple/few weeks- hopefully! Since everything has been going well the doctor said we won't need to return for one month. I will be greatly anticipating that next ultrasound and seeing how much it has grown over 4 weeks time!

First Ultrasound!

Joshua and I are excited to share our news that I am pregnant! We found out with a home test in March and then had our first appointment with my doctor in Olomouc on April 6th. This first ultrasound picture is from the beginning of the 7th week. We were able to see the heartbeat and we were overwhelmed with joy at the sight of it. The doctor said everything looked great and that I would return in 2 weeks for another appointment. I also had all of the first rounds of bloodwork done at this appointment. They had student nurses in the office and, having been one before, I let them draw my blood. Overall, she did well and only bruised me a little on one arm:) I don't think I was feeling any pain at that moment anyway. We were so excited with the good news! I was, however, already experiencing overwhelming nausea by this week. For me, it has not been only "morning" sickness so far, but all-day sickness. My only other major symptom by this point was fatigue. We are looking forward to our next visit and ultrasound on April 20th:)
